Highlights
Rialto Girls Softball History * We received use of the land that was eventually added to Frisbee park in 1979. A wooden structure was built by a board member who owned a construction company roughly 10’x8’ which was used as our snack-bar till 1984/85. The snack bar prior to the new city improvements in 2020 was built solely from donations that RGSA raised. Block, concrete, roofing, cabinetry, etc. all purchased by donated funds to RGSA. In 1981 RGSA received donated wooden light poles from Edison that we had trucked over, the poles existed until 2014. In working with the city on the layout of the snack-bar the west-facing window was built into the plans because the city had promised plans to build a 4th field west of the snack-bar in 1985 but lost a grant that was to pay for it. While several plans for a 4th and 5th field were eventually drawn up by the city and shared with the executive board at the time (about 8 years ago) the renovations were eventually completed in 2020. Rialto Girls Softball Association has roughly 600 girls participating at any given time of year and safety is our number 1 concern.
